ONLINE TICKET OFFICE
(Updated 13/11/2024)
The Oceanographic Museum, Avenue Saint Martin, 98000 Monaco, intra-community VAT No. FR60000014372 (the “Museum”), is part of the Oceanographic Institute - Prince Albert I of Monaco Foundation, a public interest foundation based at 195 rue Saint Jacques, 75005 Paris, France.
The Museum sells Oceanographic Museum-related products and services via an online ticket office at “billetterie-oceano.tickeasy.com” (the “Ticket Office”). The Oceanographic Museum is responsible for distance sales via its online ticket office.
Article 1. Purpose
These terms and conditions of sale (the “Terms and Conditions”), available in French and English, set out the rules governing the sale of products and services by the Museum via the Ticket Office.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all sales of products and services by the Museum (the “Vendor”) via the Ticket Office to an adult individual with legal capacity to accept these Terms and Conditions (“You” or the “Customer”) domiciled in one of the territories listed in Article 4.
Article 2. Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions
By placing an order, You are deemed to have read and agreed to these Terms and Conditions unreservedly. You may not place an order via the Ticket Office without accepting these Terms and Conditions. You must have full legal capacity to accept these Terms and Conditions when placing an order.
You may consult the Terms and Conditions by clicking the tab marked “Terms & Conditions”, at the bottom of each page of the Ticket Office website, or on the order form page.
To confirm your acceptance, when finalising your order, You must read the T&Cs carefully and indicate your agreement by checking the box stating that You acknowledge having read the T&Cs and accept them unreservedly, then click the “Pay” button. This confirmation, and all of the information collected by the Vendor during the order process, will be proof of the transaction between the Vendor and You. Invoices will be archived on a durable and reliable storage medium. In all cases, for orders over €120.00, the Vendor will archive the sale agreement made with You until the Products and Services concerned are used and/or expire.
You may consult, download in PDF format, or print out the current Terms and Conditions, by clicking the tab marked “Terms & Conditions” at the bottom of each page of the Ticket Office website. In all cases, a PDF document containing the Terms & Conditions applicable to your order will be sent to You at the email address you have provided.
Article 3. Effective Date - Amendments - Duration
These Terms & Conditions take effect immediately when accepted as mentioned in Article 2, “Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions”.
The Terms & Conditions are agreed for as long as is necessary to complete an order in full, and until such time as the Parties’ respective warranties and obligations have been extinguished, except where terminated or cancelled by the Museum or for reasons of force majeure.
The Terms & Conditions applicable are those in force at the time an order is placed, unless otherwise provided by law.
These Terms & Conditions are subject to change at any time, including to comply with changes to laws, regulations, and judicial precedent, and changes made to the Ticket Office and the Products and Services sold. Any changes made to the Terms and Conditions will be effective from the time of their publication online.
They will not affect orders already placed, which will continue to be governed by the version of the Terms and Conditions applicable at the time of the order.
The Vendor undertakes to publish changes to the Terms and Conditions as soon as possible by placing a notice on the Ticket Office homepage or by sending an email to the address You have provided.
You are therefore invited to read the Terms and Conditions carefully before placing any new order. If You do not agree with the changes made to the Terms and Conditions, You may choose not to place any further orders.
Article 4. Territorial Application
Orders for Products and Services may be placed via the Ticket Office from anywhere in the world. Any adult individual with legal capacity to accept these Terms and Conditions and an unlimited internet connection may place orders via the Ticket Office.
Article 5. Prices and Descriptions of Products and Services
These Terms and Conditions apply to the Products and Services displayed in the Ticket Office.
A detailed description of the Products and Services displayed is provided, the content of which depends on the nature of the Product or Service concerned. The Products and Services are sold subject to availability.
Before placing an order, You are invited to read the description carefully, as it contains details about the essential features of the Product or Service concerned.
The Products and Services shown on the Website are also identified by one or more photographs or illustrations. These are intended to reflect the Products and Services sold as accurately as possible, but colours and other details may vary, particularly depending on the media or browser used, screen resolution, display settings, and technical capabilities of your device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.). For this reason, photographs and illustrations displayed on the Ticket Office website are non-contractual.
Prices of Products and Services are shown in euros and include all taxes. Prices shown include VAT and any discounts applicable on the date of the order.
Once an order has been confirmed, the price can no longer be changed. Discounts cannot be applied retroactively.
The Vendor reserves the right to change the price of the Products and Services at its sole discretion. The prices of Products and Services sold are those applicable on the date the order is confirmed.
Article 6. Customer Account
In order to place an order, You must first create an account on the Ticket Office website. You may only enter into a contract of sale with the Vendor if you are signed into a valid account. You will be invited to create a new account when placing an order.
To create an account, You must provide your personal details, including your first name, last name, email address, postal address, or telephone number. You must ensure that the information you provide is accurate.
Your details are collected, processed, and stored in accordance with applicable statutory provisions and the “Personal Data” section of these Terms and Conditions.
An email will be sent to the email address provided, confirming that the account has been created.
Once the account has been created, You may sign in by clicking the button “Sign in” and entering your login credentials.
While signed into your account, in addition to placing orders for Products and Services, You may also:
- view and update the personal details provided when you created your account;
- access various features, including your purchase history.
You are fully and solely liable for the use of your login credentials, which are strictly personal and confidential. In the event that your login credentials are lost or stolen, You must reset them by going to the “Sign in” page and clicking the “Forgot password” button. You will be required to enter the email address associated with your account and will receive an automatically generated email with instructions on how to create a new personal and confidential password.
You may delete your Ticket Office account, at any time and without giving reasons, by emailing your request to dpo@institutoceano.org. The Vendor will deactivate your account as soon as possible, and send You an email confirmation that your account has been closed.
The Vendor may deactivate your account if You have not signed in for a maximum period of three (3) years.
In the event that You commit a serious breach of these Terms and Conditions (for example by failing to abide by the rules for managing login credentials), or where required to do so by law or a court order, the Vendor reserves the right to close your account without notice. This shall not affect the other applicable provisions of these Terms and Conditions.
In the event that You breach these Terms and Conditions, the Vendor may suspend your account while it carries out checks.
You will be informed of this and invited to contact the Vendor by email for more information and to provide feedback and/or proof that the breach has been remedied. If the breach is not remedied within fifteen (15) days of this notification, the Vendor may inform you that your account is to be deactivated.
Account deactivation will not affect the Vendor’s right to seek damages for any loss or harm incurred as a result of the breach.
You will be informed by email that your account has been deactivated.
You shall continue to be bound by your obligations to the Vendor even if your account is suspended or deactivated.
After your account has been deactivated, the Vendor will delete your details from its systems. In the case of personal data, this will be done in accordance with the “Personal Data” section of these Terms and Conditions.
Article 7. Orders - Confirmation - Online Sales Agreement
To place an order, You must (i) create and sign into an account on the Ticket Office website, and (ii) accept these Terms and Conditions.
To place an order, select the desired Product(s) or Service(s), the quantity, and the validity date (except if purchasing an annual pass), and add them to your cart by clicking the “Next” button.
You select and purchase Products and Services at your own liability. It is your responsibility to ensure that the items purchased are suitable for your requirements. You will then be required to check your order.
At any time, You may:
- check the Products and Services added to your cart under “Your selection”;
- continue to browse the Products and Services by clicking “Continue shopping”;
- remove one or more Products or Services from your cart;
- abandon all items in your cart;
- finalise your order by checking the box “I accept the terms and conditions of sale” and clicking the “Confirm and Pay” button.
To see a summary of your order before confirming, you will be invited to click the “Continue” button. An order summary will then be displayed, containing information about the Products and Services selected, their price, and the total amount to pay.
After checking the order summary, at your own liability, and to confirm and pay for your order, You must read and accept the Terms and Conditions, and click the “Confirm and Pay” button to confirm your order and proceed to payment.
You should then select the preferred payment method from the list provided, and enter your payment details as required. The various payment methods available are described in the “Payment Methods” section of these Terms and Conditions.
The Vendor reserves the right to refuse an order where:
- all or part of the Products or Services ordered are out of stock;
- there is an ongoing dispute with You, for example if You have failed to pay for one or more previous orders;
- there are objective reasons to suspect fraud;
- payment authorisation is refused by the bank or payment services provider (within seven (7) days following online payment for debit or credit card payments);
- the price displayed is clearly incorrect, being well below the value of the Product or Service, for example as a result of a configuration error, in line with case law establishing that in such circumstances there was no mutual agreement on the price as required by Article 1583 of the Civil Code.
Once the order has been confirmed and payment received, You will receive an email containing the order confirmation, a receipted invoice, and your e-tickets.
Article 8. Payment Terms
The price invoiced is the price shown on the order confirmation sent by the Vendor.
The amount is due immediately at the time the order is confirmed. Payment may be made by Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card only. Orders will not be processed until full payment has been received.
To pay by debit or credit card, You will automatically be redirected to the secure payment page of a payment services provider (“PSP”). To pay by debit or credit card, You must provide certain details such as the name of the cardholder, the card number, and depending on the type of card, the expiry date and card security code. All bank details entered are processed securely and immediately encrypted and sent via a secure channel to the PSP’s server, without transiting via the Vendor. You are invited to ensure that the payment is made securely, including by checking that the address displayed in your browser’s address bar begins with “https”.
Your bank details will be visible only to the PSP, who will use them to establish a connection with your bank. The payment details are sent to the PSP on the date of the order.
If You request a refund, the Vendor will access your bank details via the PSP in order to credit the refund to the payment card used when placing the order.
Article 9. Products - Services - E-tickets
All Products and Services purchased via the Ticket Office are in the form of e-tickets.
In order to access the Oceanographic Museum and use its facilities, You will be required to show an e-ticket in digital or paper format. If You choose to print out your e-ticket, You must ensure that the printed ticket is of good quality. Partially printed, soiled, damaged, or illegible e-tickets will be deemed invalid and will not be accepted.
Each e-ticket is valid for one person only. One e-ticket must be shown for each visitor aged four (4) years and over for admission to the Museum.
Products or Services must be purchased via official channels (the Oceanographic Museum Ticket Office and partner sites). The Vendor declines all liability in the event that You have purchased or present a counterfeit e-ticket. It is strictly prohibited to reproduce, duplicate, or counterfeit e-tickets, and doing so may result in criminal prosecution.
Each e-ticket carries a unique bar code. Its validity will be checked and recorded at the entrance to the Museum, using a bar code reader. Each e-ticket can be used to gain entrance to the Museum once only. If You leave the Museum, You will not be re-admitted unless You purchase a new e-ticket. You may therefore not enter and leave the Museum at your convenience.
The Vendor declines all liability for any anomalies that may arise during the ordering, processing, or printing of e-tickets, where it has not caused such anomalies either intentionally or negligently, or where e-tickets are lost, stolen, or used unlawfully.
Visitors must keep their e-tickets with them at all times while in the Museum. Museum staff reserve the right to ask any visitor to show their e-ticket at any time.
If You have purchased an annual pass, You should take the e-ticket received by email to the Museum cash desk, where a personal card will be created bearing your name. You will then be required to show this personal card at the Museum entrance each time you visit. Failure to show the card will result in admission being refused. Copies, photos, or photocopies of the card will not be accepted.
You must keep your pass with You at all times while in the Museum. Museum staff reserve the right to ask You to show your pass at any time.
Article 10. Modification - Cancellation - Refunds

- Would it be possible to change the email address for account deletion in the GTC, article 6, to the following address: dpo@institutoceano.org
- In the same article, I think the time limit for deleting an account should be amended to read as follows: "The Seller may deactivate an account if the Customer has not logged on for a maximum period of three (3) years".
- In addition, we have created a set of internal rules for the next virtual reality animation, which will take place on a walkabout, which I would ask you to find in the attachment. Would you like us to review it together to see if it is possible to integrate it into the ticketing site?
- Concerning article 10 b.
